We are seeking to appoint a

Learning Support Assistant to Train for an HLTA Role

This role is offered on a fixed term contract

whilst gaining Higher Level Teaching Assistant status

within a maximum 12 month period

Scale 3 (increasing to Scale 5 on completing the HLTA qualification) 

Hours: 32.5 per week x 39 week per year

Salary range £20,990 (Sc3)  -  £25,288 (Scale 5)

(Including the Outdoor London Weighting payment)

Duties will include:

• Supporting children’s learning and progress and to share in the care and wellbeing of the children throughout the school.
• Being involved in the planning, development and delivery of the curriculum.
• Providing support for pupils with special educational needs.
• Supervising and supporting pupils during Play/lunchtimes

You will:

• Have a commitment to improving the lives and learning opportunities of young people
• Have knowledge of working within KS1-2 in a primary school environment and working with SEND pupils
• Have proven success at demonstrating highly effective classroom practice
• Ability to deliver interventions
• Be the lead practitioner in the class when required including for Teachers’ PPA time
• Have proven ability to deliver positive behaviour management
• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
• Be patient, reliable, flexible and optimistic
• Be educated to GCSE Level C (or equivalent) or above in literacy & numeracy
• Be committed to sharing our high expectations for all children
• Fully support the vision, aims and values of our school
